Sweet 16! This girl turned 16!! She had a wonderful time celebrating with family and friends. This year her party fell on her actual birthday. She wanted to have a Keeper of the Lost Cities themed birthday, but also wanted it to look older and more beautiful...so we did our best to combine the two.
Regan made her own sign. It was fun looking at the picture she chose for each year of her life :)
One of her students brought her flowers. We had fajitas for lunch (by request) and yes, Hudson is missing from the picture because he didn't come home when we called him because "his friend didn't want him to leave" We waited an extra 15 minutes and he definitely knows not to do that again ;)
I was pleased with how her cake turned out this year :)
We went to the market to pick out some flowers for the centerpieces.
Regan made these for treats...in the book series that she likes, the characters favorite treat is a made up one called "Ripplefluffs" so she made some based on the description...she used Andes Mints in the middle. She said they were REALLY good straight out of the oven and pretty good after they cooled down.
I like all the flowers in my house :)

Regan was so excited that Soey was able to come! We didn't think it would work out this year. Soey could not believe how tall Katherine had gotten :)

Lauren made her this card. She's been working for awhile on it....it had to be extra special since this is the "only 16th birthday we will ever share together" (drama)
Lauren also got to give the gift that everyone wanted to give her (because she asked first a long time ago) The 8th book in the series.
Not a great picture of me, but I loved the look on Regan's face. I can still hear her saying "Oh, it's so pretty" That made me happy :)
I finished the cake a few hours before the party started. Just early enough that the weight of the top cake had time to sink down in to the bottom cake. It kind of looks like one of those on purpose crooked cakes...but it wasn't suppose to be :)

Lauren said, "Oh no! We forgot to take our picture at your party!" I told her that the party wasn't over because it was a slumber party and everyone hadn't left yet. She was very excited!
