The infamous tree that won the battle during ultimate frisbee. Jonathan pulled a Tarzan and ran full forc e into this tree leaving with scrapes and a busted knee. He now has a brace (and a legitimate reason to use a cane) to get around.
Hudson taking selfies with Jonathan's phone (we let him borrow it for a few minutes since he was the only kid without a phone at the party and the only one not taking selfies galore) These are two of his buddies from class, Asconio and Gianmarco.
Katherine was busy making friendship bracelets for the girls in her class. She worked several hours and got it done in about a week. Side note...Lauren's face! So funny. I think she was exhausted from a long day at school.
Regan was at it again! This time she made sweet and sour chicken and rice.
Regan is officially going to Union University next year! They just sent her this long sleeved T-shirt in the mail. Exciting times!
Scout has been smiling a lot. He loves when the kids bring him outside...
The boys comforters finally arrived!! They are excited to finally have bedding. Hudson has been asking for gray and Benjamin wanted blue. We found these that were reversible!
Italians take their dogs everywhere! Here's a picture of one of the shopping carts at the grocery store. This way the dog can ride in style while you shop. Of course, it can always just walk beside you ;)
After school snack! We tried the french fry shop down the street. It's only open in the afternoons. The kids approved.
Here's a picture from morning coffee with several moms. I have really enjoyed going each morning. Right now, I mostly listen and try to remember any words that I don't know and speak SOMETIMES (although right now I still have to think about what I am saying so it is much slower than the native speakers!!)
These two needed to get out of the house for a bit. So, we went out for pizza and gelato for lunch. Re di Roma Pizza is our favorite pizza place near us.
cherry, brownie, "cookies and cream" known as stracciatella, lemon, and strawberry

Woohoo! Katherine got a birthday card in the mail from Grandmommy!! She's a little closer to having enough money for a bike!!
Scout is afraid of heights. He's holding on to Hudson because he's afraid that he's going to make him go down the steps. Scout always prefers the elevator! :)
Jonathan was video calling Emily. The kids could hear Jonathan talking and could tell who he was talking to...so Hudson ended up with one earpiece to listen and Katherine came in to see Auntie Em. Jonathan got a screenshot of himself talking to Emily since they both had to have their legs up per doctor's orders.
Silas turned TWO! We enjoyed celebrating him, and he really enjoyed the homemade popsicles his mom made!
Rachel, Brice, and Rachel
He was so excited about his cake!! He wanted to take all of the chocolate chips off the cake.
Family photo
THe look on his face. He was leaning so far forward to be as close to the cake as possible :)
Diana and Roberto got him a cool floor piano! (Diana is our language tutor)
About to head home

Hudson was so worried about what to wear to his first birthday party. This is what he finally decided on.
We needed to take the metro and then walk through the park to get there.
We also had to climb over to get to the other side of the park.
Such a pretty walk
This one was my favorite pictures from the park...mountains, old aqueducts, and hay bails in one shot.
We were soooo close to the party and came across a locked gate. We were going to be late, so we called a taxi to get us there....oh well. We tried. After he dropped us off, he informed us that we made a wrong turn in the park and we could have walked down a different path to get to the party. Now we know. Hudson was happy about the taxi though. He's always loved taxis.
I also told Hudson NOT to expect his party to be like this! These were some of the refreshments when we first got there. They had a catering service that brought out completely different things every hour.
Yeah for Just Dance instructions ;)
Hudson was excited when cups of chips came out
SIX different kinds of sushi for each person!
They told the kids to get the crazy hair and glasses and have some fun.
I just thought it was pretty the way the sun was hitting everything.
It's 9pm and the cake is finally out. They all sang happy birthday and clapped. Then they each got a piece of cake...it was not as sweet as US cakes but still sweet. The icing was like whipped cream, the cake more dense, with a chocolate crunch layer on the very bottom and in between the layers was some sort of pudding. I said it was a mix between US and China.
Katherine finished her bracelets!
Regan did this watercolor picture for class this week. I really love it! I told her that I need her to leave some behind for me to decorate the apartment with ;)
