We had a good time (even if it took over an hour for the bus to come just to bring us to the metro so we could ride a subway home)
We celebrated New Years Eve with some friends. We brought some snacky foods and played games until midnight. The fireworks in their complex were another level! We checked the bus schedule and it said that buses would run until 2:30 am since it was New Years. Apparently, that did not apply to ALL the buses. The one we needed had already stopped for the night. What a good friend to let us squeeze into his car and drive us home.
We had some Chinese friends invite us to their restaurant to eat. They served us SO MUCH sushi!! They had 7 huge plates of assorted sushi. We tried really hard to eat as much as we could.
After we finished, we still had some left over. He said, "My wife was right. She told me that you guys are really Chinese. Now that I see what you ate, I know. You are more Chinese." What a compliment.
This is the nasty food that Regan was served in the hospital. She woke up at 2 am one night with extreme pain in her abdomen. She couldn't walk and it wouldn't ease up. At 4:30 we were finally able to get her to the emergency room.
They put her in an isolation room "just in case she was Covid positive" She was negative. The entire ordeal took 12 hours. I had little to no idea what was going on because "she was an adult now" and they would not let me go with her. After lots of test, bloodwork, IV meds, etc. She was sent home with an appointment with a follow-up dr. He said it was likely appendicitis that responded to the IV antibiotics and the meds they sent her home on. We are thankful everything turned out ok.

Happy 41st birthday, Jonathan! This is a picture he fell in love with at the store. WE have been to this exact spot and have many memories from that trip. It reminds us so much of our former home that will always hold a piece of our hearts.
Someone REALLY needed and umbrella so that he could stay dry!
