Back to School

We are officially Back To School!! My stair steps are no longer in age order, but still stair steps (plus a friend)

Hudson, age 9, 3rd grade taking science, English, history, Bible, math, reading, and his FAVORITE and best subject spelling.

Lauren, age 10, 5th grade taking English, reading, Bible, zoology (flying animals), math, spelling, and history.

Katherine, age 11, 6th grade (and still has the longest fingers ever) taking English, writing, botany (her favorite), Bible, French (her request), history, spelling, reading, and math.

Benjamin, age 14, 9th grade taking English, history, Spanish, algebra, veterinary science (HIS absolute favorite!!), MS Office Pro, and PE.

Regan, age 15, 10th grade taking biology, ACT Prep, English Lit, world history, geometry, health, foundations for the Christian worldview.

School has had a great first week...Katherine is most excited about taking Botany this year. She made a her greenhouse and has been researching each seed to know exactly how many and how to plant each one.

It's pretty fun watching her go through the all of this.
Grace had a birthday over the summer, so we celebrated by making cupcakes together :)
And what's a delayed birthday party without a present :)
Benjamin and Katherine with their fur babies...I think the cat might be a bit bigger than the dog ;)
We went on a bike ride for PE. Lauren wanted to stop and take a picture of the yellow flowers (her favorite color) It started raining on the ride...but was still lots of fun.

Winter and Yoyo asked if they could spend one last day with us before their school started...We went for a walk around the island and the lady at McD's decided to come bring all of us sample ice cream cones.
Hudson was very excited about the ice cream :)
 And Benjamin was as well.
I couldn't believe that the night photo turned out decently! Xiao Jun, Yoyo, Katherine, and Winter

It's amazing that some toys can still be fun so many years later. She got this when she was two and still had fun! She said, "It seems so much smaller than I remember."
So, Monday was a holiday in the states, so we planned a little surprise for the kids. A new indoor snow place just opened up. I guess they still need some work...the snow makers were frozen over, so we played in the freezer ;) Still fun for a little while
 The ice slides were fun.
Lauren was pretending to serve food to everyone.
 Queen Regan
 KK and HayHay
Hudson managed to scrape some snow of the floor and dump it on his head :)
 Sisters on a swing
 She loved the slides best.
The funniest snow angel ever! He tried to make one and he slid from the top of the hill all the way to the bottom.  The video is much better than the picture.

I don't think the dog is happy about school starting ;)
Hudson loved his first science project. He had to choose one of the 5 kingdoms and research 5 species within the kingdom. He chose the Plant Kingdom (probably because Katherine is studying plants. He had a fun time!)
We went out to eat some soup noodles and Hudson says, "Mom, I think I just lost a tooth." Sure enough he did. We had to search through his entire bowl to find it.
 proof :)

Katherine found a dead mosquito at the bookstore. She carried it around to all the other stores we went to and carried it home to her "bug collection" which by the way, I have no idea where it's stored.
It's amazing how much they have grown in such a short time!!!
I WANT TO PLAY! I will stand here like a statue until you notice me!

Lauren went to a birthday party for Yi Fan.
Science experiments are so much fun :)
 Regan demonstrating for the class
I started helping my neighbor and her friends with their English. They were a bit shy for the first class back, but hopefully will get more brave :)
