Hudson's 10th Birthday!

Hudson's actual birthday fell on a weekday. We asked him if he had any special requests for lunch. He said he wanted hamburgers. So, Jonathan went on a hunt for hamburger meat, and we had mini burgers for lunch.
I couldn't let him go all day on his birthday with no gift, so he opened one early. He got a new set of pens. He was very excited about these.
His party has arrived and I finished the cake on time.
Naomi was inspecting all of the plants at the party.
Hudson sat with Phinehas and just talked to him about everything.
 The pretty flower
I was so happy that one of Hudson's friends from the complex was able to come to the party. He didn't stay for the entire time because his mom said he had to come home and eat rice, but they had fun while he was here.
The girls played Uno while the boys played Don't Break the Ice.
 Oh, it looks so good!
Katherine, Phinehas, Winter, Grace, Lauren, Regan, Yoyo, Hudson, Naomi, and Benjamin
A piano music box from one of his friends
He couldn't wait to see what was in this box.
He was super excited that Lauren bought him a new piano stand.

 Love the smile

 Make a Wish
He asked for Metropolitan ice cream...with sprinkles.
This made me laugh so hard. Regan was looking through these cards in the chair and Phinehas yells, "Lemon Balm" Apparently Hudson earlier had read all of the cards to him in the chair. Now every time he sees a plant he calls it lemon balm :)
 That expression!
My older two kids were excited to get the book to study. Living overseas they have no chance to get their permit or license...but BOTH plan to take the test as soon as we come back for a visit!
Well, it's a little birthday "family tag" meaning ALL the adults played, too. Thankfully, it was freeze tag. Regan, Hudson, and Grace were the taggers....and they liked to gang up on me. :)
We were having so much fun that we decide to all go out to eat dinner before everyone headed their separate ways.
We took up 3 tables :)

 Mom, I'm hungry :)
Katherine made breakfast wraps for everyone one morning. YUM!
 two sleeping puppies
 The last of the veggies
This might just be my new favorite drink....passion fruit, orange, and apple pieces in the juice.
This picture made me laugh...I'm eating asian and my friend is eating western
Poor Regan...despite the smile on her face in this picture....she absolutely hated this homework assignment for her online health class. Yes, this is baby Timmy. She was not a fan of him.
His birthday box from Granddad and Mammy! What a cute card!
He loves clothes and he got some sharp looking clothes for his birthday.
This dog literally followed Hudson home and sat at our door. I thought he was joking until I looked out the door. Yep, he was there. Nope! We did NOT keep it.
 Hudson painted his wooden car.
A good friend of ours had her baby! It's a little boy...although he doesn't have a name yet.
 Benjamin got a haircut.
I fell in love with this painting form a local artist. I want to get it so bad! His artwork was so amazing. He had several pieces that I liked, but this was my favorite.
Regan drew a picture for one of the coach's son. He asked her if she would draw a picture of him doing taekwondo. I think it looks great!
I taught my neighbor and her friend what a roasted marshmallow was. They said that they wished they could taste one, so the next class we roasted some city style!  They LOVED them! For some reason they thought it tasted like ice cream.
We were going through the footlocker to see if there were any cooler weather clothes that needed to be washed. Regan put this jacket on...I told her that she looked like a college student. haha!

Finally, our Thankful Tree.  We have so much to be thankful for. So, this month everyone is writing down one that they are thankful for on a leaf. Our tree will be FULL of leaves by the end on November. I can't wait to see it :)

Halloween 2019

In keeping with our tradition while living overseas, the kids all made their own costumes and surprised us on Halloween with their creativeness.  I'll tell you who everyone is below...
The kids always want Jonathan to dress up as well. He decided to be Clogsworth, the clock from Beauty and the Beast.
Katherine was Doc accompanied by Scout as Sleepy, Bunny as Sleeping Beauty, and Shadow as Sleepy.
 Lauren as Wonder Woman
Grace as Gomora from Avengers: Endgame
Regan as Shuri from Black Panther
Hudson as Japhar from Aladdin
Benjamin as dirty laundry (although he used all clean stuff for the costume)

Our other tradition while living in a country without this candy filled holiday....the kids go back and forth between two doors in our house collecting candy from us.
The dogs figured it out and stood in line waiting for their "treat" because the kids kept saying "trick-or-treat" They were so cute! I had to give the a treat :)

Because the kids wanted me to dress up too and I have little time...I decided to go with Little Miss Muffet.
Regan got very creative and made tiny cheesecakes for each of us. So cute! I love that she colored it to look like a candy corn.
