Date Night

The kids went to hand out with Emily while Jonathan and I went on a date. We were about to go home when we got a phone call..."Please don't come home before 9:30. We are working on something and having fun." They were doing a chalk mosaic in Emily's driveway.

Emily took the kids to Cruz Farms for ice cream.

Group Picture (Benjamin did not want ice cream so he stayed at Emily's house)
We were going through some storage boxes and found this. haha! "I'm going to pick up garbage. I have lots of garbage. It's in trash bags."
My date night dinner! Prime Rib and Creamed Spinach
We tried to take a selfie outside the restaurant, but the sun was so bright that neither one of us could open our eyes! We got so tickled trying!
We even drove through to try our first hot doughnut since being back. It was much sweeter than I remembered!
WE then went to try and find something to do. We found this little putt putt place. It was a lot of fun.

Proof that I won the game ;)
They were having a special apparently. Because we bought a game of miniature golf, they gave us free tokens for the games inside. (We were the only ones there) They had hand sanitizer at each game. We played a few rounds of skeeter's ball and then...
...a game of air hockey. I enjoyed this game the most (even though Jonathan beat me)
Of course, all the games came with tickets, so we brought junk toys home for the kids.
 After we got back...
The kids were full of energy :)
I'm sure Emily slept well that night!
Here's the picture Jonathan took of their work when we arrived.

The kids have been wanting snow cones for a long time. We decided to run by after church. The kids were very happy. It started raining so we put the seats down in the car and just hung out for a few minutes while we ate.
Benjamin got a blue raspberry flavor. It matched his shirt perfectly.
The kids were invited to go swimming. Kayla and Regan just hung out and talked.
The other kids swam and played for about an hour.
He's been waiting to go swimming!!
Benjamin like playing basketball in the pool.
This is our friend's dog, Elsa.
The girls made dinner for Father's Day. I was just in charge of driving them to the store.
 Happy Father's Day!!
The kids picked out this book to give Jonathan.
This is what the girls fixed....chicken, zucchini, and sweet potatoes. Mmmmmmm!!!
 They are so sweet!
 They also made dessert cookies!
Red Velvet Cookie with Cheesecake filling
We woke up one morning and someone had put a swing in the yard! We have enjoyed sitting in it!

Chattanooga

Katherine spent the day with her friend, Emily, in Chattanooga. They haven't seen each other in several years, but have been good pen pals.
The girls enjoyed talking and making flower necklaces.
After a few hours we decided that we needed to go to Brusters to get some ice cream and a walk around the park.
The girls took their shoes off (or socks) and enjoyed walking in the creek.
It didn't take long before they were soaked...but they had fun!
Regan spent a few days with our friends. She was invited to tea...a new southern experience

They went to the family barn and rode horses.
The tea room
 playing on the swings
We had Ms. Edna over for dinner.
Hudson drew Ms. Edna a picture
The chipmunks have decide that they like Katherine's tomatoes. So we threw these off for them to finish eating. Now Katherine has made a mixture of pepper and garlic plus some cinnamon sticks nearby and it seams to be working. They have left them alone for a few days.
Katherine wanted to show me how she could swing sideways. She asked me to push her and then laughed so much. She said that Lauren and Hudson couldn't get her so high.
The big tree in the back of our house is coming down! We were told that it had a disease.
The kids enjoyed watching the process...all day long!

It looks so different without that tree there!

I really just took this picture for the memories. Yes, we all see them everywhere every day, but in 30 years I'm hoping it's a distant memory.
Regan was able to get her learners permit!!
I think she still prefers public transportation over driving, but she had fun learning the ropes. She said it was a little scarier than go karts ;) She did a good job!
