Chattanooga and Charleston

We have been visiting places in Chattanooga and Charleston the past few weeks. One of the highlights was going to visit the Tennessee Aquarium.
Touching the stingrays was pretty fun!
The butterflies really like the girls, but this huge one on Lauren's head would not go away.  I think it wanted to go home with her :)
Katherine had a huge one land on her nose, but I wasn't quick enough for the picture.  She was glad that this little guy decided to hang out on her shoulder.
 My little penguins
He's ALMOST as big as the Emperor Penguin!
Lauren liked the huge sea turtle!
Hudson was fascinated with the sharks.
So cute.  I'm not sure why Hudson's hand is in Regan's ear.  ??
The jelly fish exhibit was a lot of fun :)

This was one of my favorites. They are so cute! (And the otter behind them was a lot of fun, too.)
 Touching the fish
 Alligators

 Feeding the HUGE stingray!

Regan got to see Miss Aleah, her 4 yr old choir teacher (who now has four kids of her own)
Auntie Em was convinced that the heels would make her taller than Regan...not quite :)
WE had a great cookout (well cookie because of the rain) with several friends.  It was a lot of fun!
 Lauren found a friend.
It was like no time had passed.  It was so much fun to be together!
 Regan and Grandmommy
Grandmommy missed their birthdays because she broke her back and couldn't travel, so we celebrated again.

 She loves her new overalls!
This girl is so excited! She has been saving for years to get her camera!
 Dinner at a Greek restaurant
This was the KIDS spaghetti...what?! He can eat a lot, but he couldn't even touch this.
We spent the day in Charleston. The highlight of the trip was the horse drawn carriage ride through the city. I liked hearing what the kids thought was interesting about the city.  I can't remember all of them...canon balls hitting the fort, not exploding and then collected and retired at the enemy...gunpowder filling a basement so that it would explode if the fire came that way...and orange markers to show where the hoses pooped in the street so it could be cleaned up later...just to name a few.
 The fire station
 Reading their map
This home was for sale...4 million anyone?
Confederate Jasmines in full bloom! They smelled wonderful!
 Ha! I love this!

The outdoor market.  This was a lot of fun.
 Riding the boat

Yes. I did. I pulled out the umbrella because it was so hot.
 Regan getting her exercise :)
 Group shot

A shrimp boat on the right and a research vessel on the left.
The kids were beyond excited that they actually saw dolphins in the ocean. It was fun.  There were three, including a little baby one!

A kids dream come true. CANDY!
 I liked this little church.
This was the best seafood I have had in a long time! I definitely want to eat there again. Hyman's Seafood
Hudson can drive ;)  He had so much fun driving this little red car.
 playing a little badminton
Hudson trying to learn how to ride without training wheels
 That's my girls
We have seen all kinds of animals in the wild.  The kids are loving it.
 Regan and Hudson
 Ah, we love picking strawberries!

I had no idea you could draw real pictures on these things!
Both the kids were just amazing me!

 YUM! Strawberry shortcake!
How did we manage a date? The kids were only slightly jealous that we got ice cream ;)
Our first official Chinese takeout since we've been back in the States.

 Hummingbirds!

 priorities. Dr Pepper. toilet paper.
 What a beautiful bird!
 red bellied snake

Fun. Fun times.
