One For the Record Books (part 1)

Well, we have internet back and I have TONS of pictures. I was just going to throw them all in one blog, but figured I'd be nice and break it into 2 for catching up and then do a sweet 16 blog and by the time I get that finished I should have a Christmas one ready...I'm getting there! I just don't want to skip anything. Hopefully I can remember what everything was...so all of these were from November...starting with Lauren being super comfy doing a school project in her bed.
This little boy was so cute. He wanted to teach Regan how to play a Pokemon-type game.
Jonathan was working late one night, so the kids and I went out to eat. I took this picture because the problem is worldwide. These 3 ladies were on their phones the entire time they ate...never once spoke to each other until they were leaving. The lady at the cash register is also on her phone.
Lauren did this for school...a good reminder for us all :)
Our apartment complex had a social where each family brought some kind of dish from their hometown to share. We brought Jonathan's world famous pizza :)  It was a huge hit.
They had us assigned to tables to get to know others in the complex from different buildings.
Jonathan's pizza was very famous and we got to meet extra neighbors because they all kept coming over wanting to know if they could trade food with us!
It was a great opportunity to talk! I wish they would do this kind of social more often.
I don't really remember except that we were walking outside...and everyone was looking at the moon.
Lauren's class had a short performance and got to meet some of the performers for the ballet Cinderella.
 more pictures from the social
The management bought a big pig  for the event!

We traveled to a friend's house for a birthday party.
 Happy 9th birthday, Winter!
 Winter and her dad, HuaQuan
Group picture before we had to leave...the girls and I had to change at their house because we were going straight to the performance of Cinderella.
 waiting for it to begin

 Cinderella at the beginning
 dancing at the ball
Grace and Katherine enjoying a little iPad time
This little one wanted to see the hamster. She was so excited that she got to touch it!
Katherine is always catching weird bugs outside and bringing them in to show us.
I had a quit trip to Taiwan. I don't have many picture, but a few...this was painted on the ground outside of the subway.
And I took this picture for Regan...Darth Vader and butterflies...hmmm.
I had a delicious caesar salad.
 The train station
 My dinner one night
My roll that came with dinner had quite the surprise inside for me. I was not expecting that!
This lady didn't move. She was completely oblivious to everything and everyone around her.
These tasted and smelled like waffles! My friend and I split and order (you had to buy 6..but super cheap)
The first Christmas tree of the season. It made me happy to see.  They don't put trees up in our area anymore, although you can still buy some Christmas things for about 3 weeks in a couple of stores.
This was my meal on the airplane.
 Sunset between Macau and China
 Back to familiar
:) The kids got me welcome home flowers. It made me happy. Things were so quiet over the weekend without them.
Katherine's guinea pigs are doing well

We went to a new restaurant for lunch...not bad.
The girls preparing our turkey.  We look forward to this all year long ;)
 Our Thanksgiving feast!!
CONGRATULATIONS REGAN!!! She entered a design contest and won!! I went online to order the shirt just so that she could have one. She is just full of talents!
We thought that she might have won because they contacted her and asked her permission to change it from 3 colors to 2 colors to save on the cost of printing.
This is a picture that Katherine drew!! It is so cute!! I want to frame it! She actually drew it for an art exhibition/contest that her art teacher told her about, but the teacher didn't tell us that there was a theme to the contest, so her picture was ineligible.

She was sad at first, but decided to draw another one to fit the theme.
My pictures are a little out of order...here we are...preparing the Thanksgiving meal.

All the girls we helping with the different dishes.

The boys working hard on Thanksgiving while we prepare the food...haha!

I'm so glad that the art teacher always sends me pictures during their class :)

The international school asked Jonathan to play Santa at their Christmas carnival.
 This poor dog.

The main guy at taekwondo asked 4 of the coaches to come shopping with him to try on/ pick out the "coaches jackets" for their uniform when it gets cold (January/February)
 I like the girls' jackets.

This is what happens when you leave 3 girls to make cookies on their own :)
Katherine got to be one of the volunteers in our city to paint street art.  They contacted local art schools/teachers and asked for volunteers to design and paint different animals.  She was excited that they were assigned the giraffe (the biggest one)

The family went to see Frozen 2
Lots of fun...(Day after Thanksgiving...a day off from school for us)
I love this picture! Coach Regan in the center at this yellow belt test :)
The kids are making sure that the puppies are getting into the holiday spirit.
 Check out that tongue!
A coaches only trick training camp

The sunrise was so pretty this day.
Regan and Shadow, Katherine and Scout

Katherine has been practicing with water colors for several weeks now.
It's time to decorate the tree!!

Regan ran in a 5K with her friend Yoyo.
Regan took this picture...there were a 25,000 people in the race. They actually had over 100,000 sign up, so most did not get to run...they did it by lottery. They had fun :)
We had Christmas with XiaoJun and the girls. I bought XJ one silly gift...huge chopsticks

cookies that the girls made for Thanksgiving

We got Yoyo the first 5 books of Keeper of the Lost Cities...one of my kids' favorite series.
WE got Winter some legos because that is what she said she wanted :)
Lauren and Katherine weren't able to come, so we skyped them.
It was Lauren's turn to put the star on the tree :)

 Our traditional selfies with Mom

 Benjamin's selfie with the dog
 Family selfie (with the dogs)

Regan had a sore back from the tricks class and needed a massage. Hudson thought that he should keep her company down there ;)
I can't do school, Mom. We are too comfy.

Poor little hamster almost died. The temperatures dropped overnight and the window was drafty. He got too cold and tried to go into hibernation. We read online that if he did that then he would die. So he spent the next several hours in jacket pockets and near hand warmers. He's back to normal.
Let the Christmas cookie making begin!!

What have they done to our beautiful trees?! They cut so many branches and then added about 6 fake bird's nests in each tree that have lights in them.

 Christmas from Granddad and Mammy

Our family got invited over to a neighbor's house for lunch. It was good.
