Appia Park + THANKSGIVING!

So we met some friends at Appia park. It was MUCH greener this time around. I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that it has rained ALL of November!
Lauren and her classmate, Kevin

They found some blow flowers
I really enjoyed talking with the moms. We were able to really get to know each other better and hit it off. We've met several more times since the park, too! There's very little seating in the park. The kids were happy to rest for a few minutes :)
The locals found a spot to rest also! I really just took the picture because it looked like it should be on a puzzle or postcard. haha
Hudson and Lauren
Kevin's friend bought everyone cotton candy!
Then we were on the way back to the metro to go home for dinner and Kevin's mom insisted on dessert!
We waited in line for our permesso appointment. We got there at 9:30 and got inside the building at 1:30 and left at 2:30
This was what Hudson thought about all of the waiting. We managed to use the entire day here. The kids were hoping to get to go to school.
The very next day, I decided to get Hudson out of school early to go get his Covid shot. It's become our family tradition (thanks to covid) to get ice cream afterwards.
It's beginning to look a lot like Chirstmas... I love all teh decorations that the stores are starting to put up. It's so fun.
Thanksgiving is here which means no school :) Scout was enjoying that Benjamin was on the couch watching movies.
Jonathan hard at work cooking our very first FRESH turkey! Jonathan ordered one from the butcher. The butcher got on the phone with the farm and told him what size bird to kill and when to deliver it. It was really good!
Our Thankful tree. Each day we added something we were thankful for so by the time Thanksgiving arrived our tree was full!
Katherine thought it was so funny that Shadow kept looking at the turkey and licking his lips.
Jonathan's Thanksgiving helper

Our friends from America came over to celebrate with us. Silas is fascinated with the bells that go off all over town. He always wants to see the bells across the street from our house.
Hudson enjoying baby Ruthie
Katherine is on baby duty while we get all of the food set out on the table.
YUM! We had quite the spread! We were actually hoping for a few other people to come, but life happens and they were unable to make it. It's ok. I like leftovers! :)
Thanksgiving 2021
Ruthie is such a fun little one. She rarely cries (at least when she is with us)
Eating together (Katherine with her usual turkey leg)
Jonathan and Benjamin. WE had ham this year, too. It was SO GOOD! I asked our friends where they found it. WE might have to make the trip to go  buy one for Christmas!
I was on baby duty during the meal. The kids were laughing at how she was sleeping. They said, "Mom, she looks like you on an airplane." HAHA!
Awe, Regan gets her with the bow.
Trying to snap a family picture for them before they headed back to their house.
