Switzerland - Day 4

The pictures for this day loaded all out of order.
I love seeing and hearing the bells on each of the cows.
It was a bit foggy at this point...well, really it was a mist. We had beads of water on our hair.
This hike, Oeschinesee, was surprisingly our hardest of all of them, but so beautiful and fun. This was one of the easier parts. I was so thankful that we hiking sticks though. I couldn't believe how much it helped.
We really couldn't see very far at times, and I could see how you could get disoriented. We were thankful for the trail markers that gave us reassurance that we were indeed on the trail.
With the rain, we saw so many little critters out and about.

The clouds had come in and and completely blocked the view of the lake. If it had been a clear day, this lake would be a bright teal and surrounded by snow-capped mountains on all sides plus tons of waterfalls. We were having a great time hiking but were a little disappointend that we couldn't see the lake. We just sat and rested for about 5 minutes at the lookout spot and literally a hole opened up for us to see the lake for about 5 minutes. God was good to give her a glimpse!

We saw several small waterfalls along the trail.

We can only imagine what it would look like on a clear day. SO happy to see it!
beautiful
love the flowers in the rain

After our our 6 hour hike of steep climbs, narrow paths, rocky paths, smooth paths, rain, fog, crossing streams, etc...we felt we deserved a cup of Swiss hot chocolate.
This was the cable car bringing us up to the start of the hiking trail. We actually had a few good views before all those clouds rolled in. It was actually better that we anticipated that day.
Our one meal at the end of the day at Weidstubli near our ABNB...reservations only because it's a popular place.
Zucchini soup
Cheese fondue
The bread was brought to us in a basket. There were actually 4 different kinds of bread. I've never had fondue before and was excited to try it in Switzerland.
We were told before we got there that there is a right way to eat fondue and Americans usually don't do it right. No dipping allowed...you have to spin it. Just fyi
We split a dessert

This is the restaurant

This was us walking from the train station to the cable car that would take us to the starting place.
We got a glimpse of some of the mountains to where we were going.
Look at all of those waterfalls behind her!!
Cute little golden snail
Riding up!

We couldn't believe that we got some "clearish" weather!

We had many choices for the trails, but Regan had already researched and knew which one we should take. It's not a super well known one, but has amazing views if you catch the right day. I thought it was beautiful even in the rain.

Yes, we will end up at the top...and then some! The clouds hid much of our hike...probably a good thing that I didn't know how much further I had to go up...haha!
The trail marker for the win again.

This is probably the best we got to show the mountains surrounding the lake. We were just beginning.

So many wildflowers!!!

One of the many streams we had to cross...some easier than others to do and not get wet

It was really so much fun!

"If I freeze mid step she won't see me!"

This was the lake view before the clouds opened up for a minute.

Random turnstile in the middle of nowhere! We decided that it was to keep the cows from going to the wrong side of the mountain.

ha! The water droplets that I talked about earlier.
I had to stop at one point because I just couldn't see. I don't mind this kind of rain though.
hi Cow

Regan wasn't so sure about passing by this cow since she had just see a different one relieve itself. She finally braved past it ;)
