Lauren turns 13

Well, it's official. I have one more teenager in the house. Lauren requested a "China party" this year. She was quite specific that that meant reds and yellows :)
The yellow cupcakes were fun. Katherine helped me to make all the fish and oranges for the top. I learned quickly that trying to write SMALL characters in icing is not so easy. The icing kept wanting to run together.

Regan made a cute birthday sign for Lauren.
I was excited to find this fun balloon to go with her presents.
When I picked her up from school, she said that Daniele remembered it was her birthday and gave her a Pokemon card. I think it's her first Italian one. She left most of her in storage in the States, but she plans to get them this summer so she can play with her friends here as well.
Some of her friends from school came over for some cake :)  Eleanora (holding Scout), Lea, Lauren, and Giorgia.
Love the smile
They are all in their uniforms (Lauren has just taken the jacket off because she was hot)

Singing Happy Birthday
The look when you only blew half of the candles out ;)
Regan was so fast! She got this sign up in between me leaving to pick up the kids from school and us coming home.
Yes, I cut her a ginormous piece of cookie cake because well, it's her birthday, and that's the piece she asked for. Don't worry, she didn't finish it all in one setting.
Lauren insisted on pineapple pizza at her party...mostly because she wanted to tease her friends and see them try it. Only Eleanora tried it because one of the other girls said that she "couldn't or I won't be Italian anymore." Haha!
This is us trying to get our mother daughter cake picture (because we forgot) and now half the cake is eaten. It's ok...I love the picture even with part of a cake ;)
most of the fish cupcakes had been eaten :)
Her friends know her well...candy added to any gift :)
American Sign Language crossword puzzles. She loves sign language and has taught herself so much through books and youtube tutorials. I love to see her sign songs. It's fun
Group photo with everyone (Melina arrived late) and her brothers and sisters in this one as well
Her teacher was calling to her from across the street. She was saying SOS because all the girls left for the party and only the boys were left at school.
They really enjoy playing Telestrations.
Katherine changed and left the party a little early because her friend was also having a party...but for dinner.
So, the party was on Thursday. On Saturday, we were taking the kids to a trampoline park to play.
The weather changed overnight and it was COLD! It hailed several times on Saturday. This was leftover from while we were on the metro. Later it hailed A LOT!
These two said they were going to walk the Italian way.

This is the outside of Zero Gravity. The building is huge! It's a really fun place!
Goofing off before they come in to jump
We finally talked Hudson into trying the obstacle course. He did just fine!! He just didn't think he could do it.
Trampoline Dodge Ball
Benjamin falling off backwards from the platform
Katherine jumping off
Benjamin on the monkey bars
This was one of my favorite sections. Lots of games on the wall. You had to try and hit the buttons that were lit up.
Hudson playing basketball
Regan performing a SLAM DUNK
watching the CRAZY hail storm from INSIDE the building
Giorgia and Lauren

Yes, even Mom can do the course...mostly to show Hudson that it's ok  :)
Regan doing the speed reaction wall.
Kelly playing basketball
GO HUDSON!!! He was too scared the first time, but decided to go back and try again!

Proof for Hudson to show his siblings...he went back on his own to "conquer his fear" He almost didn't do it (stop himself in this picture)
but did great!
We had so much fun here!!
Lea, Lauren, Giorgia
We took a bus back to the metro on the way home....it's the first double decker bus we have seen here
Regan had a volleyball game that afternoon. I was SO EXCITED that I finally got to watch her play!!
The girls didn't win their game, but they played well and Regan did awesome!
We also had a video call with Ma to tell her happy 92nd birthday
Lauren had her class field trip. All of the parents dropped them off at the train station (the kids all had to wear white hats for the teachers to spot them easily) They were gone to Naples for 3 days!!
The police inside the train station
Packed up and ready for some fun!
